Happy 2nd Day of the Year of Our Lord 2009

We're not exactly setting the world afire here at Oklahomily, which is appropriate since we don't believe a blazing world is in our best interests at this time, but more specifically I refer to blog posts. We were busy with a belated family Christmas yesterday, so that took precedence and I had little to say anyway. Also, I thought everyone had their fill New Year's Eve of watching mind-numbed party-goers at Times Square and vapid commentary from TV hosts, so it seemed 24 hours of recovery appropriate for the situation.

So Happy New Year to ya, and may it be better than the last.

As the song says, "Should old acquaintance be forget and never brought to mind, we'll drink a cup of kindness yet for Auld Lang Syne." Which we are told means "long, long ago" in Scottish, or something like that. What it means I have no idea, but it has a wistful sound, doesn't it?
