This BICEP Will Make U.S. Weak

There's a new group of companies pushing Congress to raise your cost of living by invoking new regulations on energy use, emissions and renewable energy.

The group calls itself BICEP -- Business for Innovative Climate and Energy Policy -- and describes its purpose as lobbying Congress to pass by year’s end a mandatory, economy-wide cap-and-trade program to slash U.S. greenhouse gas emissions to 25 percent below 1990 levels by 2020.

(If the Greater Depression doesn't do the job first, that is).

You have a right to know the companies that want to raise the cost of everything you eat, wear or enjoy. According to their website, they are (drum roll, please) ...

EBay, The Gap, Levi Strauss & Co., Nike Inc., as well as Starbucks Corp., Sun Microsystems Inc. and Timberland Co.

You may reward or punish them according to your conscience.

(HT: Chris Horner at Planet Gore who adds, They all think it’s pretty hip to demand government intervention to force Al Gore’s “wrenching transformation of society”.)
