'As Long As We Remember Him ...'

Spock was dead, his body rocketed off to the Genesis planet in a photon torpedo tube.

"He's not really dead," said Dr. Leonard McCoy. "As long as we remember him."

McCoy had no idea, of course, that Spock's katra, or consciousness, was inside McCoy's mind.

Spin your cosmic clock forward, or backward, to today's memorial for Michael Jackson at LA's Staples Center:

Pastor Lucious Smith of Friendship Baptist Church in Pasadena tells the crowd of 17,000-plus. "As long as we remember him, he will always be there to comfort us.

I'm not saying there was a katra transfer, and I'm not saying there wasn't.

There was, however, a near case of plagiarism. That is fairly routine stuff for Los Angeles.
