Mandatory Population Controls & Climate Change

Anyone complacent about the calls for global governance and similar calls for a world authority to combat "climate change" might want to listen to the head of Britain's Sustainable Development Commission. Quoted in London's Sunday Times, his words strongly suggest that the powers that be are hellbent on taking us down a path of green totalitarianism:

COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.

Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.

A report by the commission, to be published next month, will say that governments must reduce population growth through better family planning.

“I am unapologetic about asking people to connect up their own responsibility for their total environmental footprint and how they decide to procreate and how many children they think are appropriate,” Porritt said.

Let's be clear what is being pushed: government control of family size. As of now, except in China where a one-child per family policy is often murderously enforced, governments are merely strongly suggesting limits on family size, while at the same time spending billions on contraceptive and abortion services. What happens when mere recommendation becomes mandatory "thou shalt not procreate"?

Right now millions of people are hoodwinked into believing that the Earth is in peril from global warming - a great deal of recent scientific evidence to the contrary. "Green" is being promoted. If the progressive/liberal social engineers in government and industry link population control to healing the environment, will enough people go along so that Constitutional liberties are dissolved?

Who is the author of life? Congress? The President? Who should make the decision as to the number of children you or your own children bear?

Porritt, a former chairman of the Green party, says the government must improve family planning, even if it means shifting money from curing illness to increasing contraception and abortion.

Porritt may be British, but you're kidding yourself if you don't realize there are scores of people just like him in the U.S. government. If bureaucrats and politicians such as Porritt have their way, there goes medical care too.
