In California, Not Everyone is Treated Equally

There is a lawsuit just begging to be filed in California, as the state has started issuing IOUs to some folks, but paying cash to others.

For instance, California is still paying its legislators, their staffs and state appointees in cash.

But if you are old, blind or disabled, the state is giving you an IOU.

People in need of temporary assistance for basic needs -- I guess this would be welfare -- are getting the IOUs. But the state is investing real money into the Public Employees' Retirement System.

Judges are still getting paid real money. Small business vendors who have sold merchandise or services to the State of California are receiving IOUs.

There's more, if you have the stomach for it.
