Straight to the Heart

Ashley's Story

It may be the best political ad folks in Oklahoma, Texas and other "solid GOP" states may never see. It's a new political ad run by the Progress for America Voter Fund, a 527 group non-affiliated with the Bush-Cheney campaign or the Republican Party. It tells the story of a young girl whose mother was killed on September 11, and of what happened when she met up with President George W. Bush. It's the kind of ad they'll be talking about years from now when our sons and daughters take college courses on effective use of advertising media.

The reason most of us won't see it is that we do not live in the Battleground states where the election will be decided. That doesn't mean we aren't important and can sit on our hands come election day. It just means that we are privileged to live in states where Dubya is appreciated.

But enough talk. Get out your Kleenex and view the ad. It loads easily (at least on our broad-band connection) and it's well worth the wait even if you are still living in the dark ages of dial-up.
