Back from the dead turkey

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and lived to tell the tale!

If you have to get out today on Black Friday, do so carefully.

We did not intend to take a two-day break but we've got company coming in Saturday -- a lot of company -- and there were some things to finish. Not to mention that we anticipated a lull in the news cycle for Thursday itself. (Yeah, it was thankfully dull.)

But in between baking bread, blowing leaves and giving eldest daughter driving lessons -- not to mention her frequent interruptions of "when are we going driving" -- we should be able to post on a couple of things today.
