Slashed Stimulus Bill May be Restuffed

There may be a deal in the Senate on the Pork-a-Palooza but the voting won't come until Sunday and weird things can and do happen.

But if it passes, it will still be a fundamentally flawed piece of legislation and there is no guarantee that the price tag, whittled back from $937 billion to somewhere between $790 billion and $830 billion, will remain low. Already there is talk among top liberals that the conference committee restructuring between the House and Senate will likely restore much if not all of the stricken spending.

Small government patriots in Pennsylvania: remember how Arlen Specter has screwed you again. The other identified GOP quislings: Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe. No surprise there.
