The Odds of Extremists Getting Pakistan's Nukes

Not exactly your Tuesday morning "feel good" moment when you read that Pakistan's nuclear weapons facilities have been attacked three times by Islamic extremists.
WASHINGTON: Pakistan's nuclear facilities have already been attacked at least thrice by its home-grown extremists and terrorists in little reported incidents over the last two years, even as the world remains divided over the safety and security of the nuclear weapons in the troubled country, according to western analysts.

The incidents, tracked by Shaun Gregory, a professor at Bradford University in UK, include an attack on the nuclear missile storage facility at Sargodha on November 1, 2007, an attack on Pakistan's nuclear airbase at Kamra by a suicide bomber on December 10, 2007, and perhaps most significantly the August 20, 2008 attack when Pakistani Taliban suicide bombers blew up several entry points to one of the armament complexes at the Wah cantonment, considered one of Pakistan's main nuclear weapons assembly.

[SNIP]

Pakistan insists that its nuclear weapons are fully secured and there is no chance of them falling into the hands of the extremists or terrorists.
No chance, eh?

That statement alone ought to chill your coffee. There is no chance that roosters will lay eggs, or that aliens will land at the Dept. of Treasury with a saucer loaded with ten tons of gold bullion as a gift to the American people.

But those jihadis are pretty determined. Their odds might be long, but I don't think they're zero.

Maybe we should take out Pakistan's nuclear capability. It would serve as a signature warning for other rambunctious nations in that area.

Then we could reassess those chances to be at zero.

My Father Wanted to be My Axe Murderer

Your "religion of peace" update for the Ides of March.

My imam father came after me with an axe

This takes place in Great Britain, not the Middle East, and displays the probable result of political correctness run amok in government, social services and even in well-meaning but clueless religionists who seek first to be culturally sensitive rather than the true Kingdom of God.

The book is called The Imam’s Daughter because “Hannah Shah” is just that: the daughter of an imam in one of the tight-knit Deobandi Muslim Pakistani communities in the north of England. Her father emigrated to this country from rural Pakistan some time in the 1960s and is, apparently, a highly respected local figure.

He is also an incestuous child abuser, repeatedly raping his daughter from the age of five until she was 15, ostensibly as part of her punishment for being “disobedient”. At the age of 16 she fled her family to avoid the forced marriage they had planned for her in Pakistan. A much, much greater affront to “honour” in her family’s eyes, however, was the fact that she then became a Christian – an apostate. The Koran is explicit that apostasy is punishable by death; thus it was that her father the imam led a 40-strong gang – in the middle of a British city – to find and kill her. [SNIP]

This is the sort of cultural sensitivity displayed by Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, last year when he suggested that problems within the British Muslim community such as financial or marital disputes could be dealt with under sharia, Islamic law, rather than British civil law. What did Hannah, now an Anglican, think on hearing these remarks?

“I was horrified.” If you could speak to him now, what would you say to the archbishop? “I would say: have you actually spoken to any ordinary Muslim women about the situation that they live in, in their communities? By putting in place these Muslim arbitration tribunals, where a woman’s witness is half that of a man, you are silencing women even more.”

She believes the British government is making exactly the same mistake as Rowan Williams ...
How can you maintain a civil society if you allow two different overlapping sets of justice, diametrically opposed one to the other, to operate? How can a justice system based on the rights of the individual - every individual - step aside to allow another operate which recognizes values that subjugate the freedom of some people to those who happen to be male and of one particular religion?

The belief that one culture is as good as another does not pass the sanity test. Toleration in this situation is madness.

And yet it is Great Britain, home of the Queen and the late Princess Diana; of fish and chips. The land of Winston Churchill, Shakespeare, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, William Wilberforce, the Beatles and the Moody Blues. That this once fearless nation that gave the world so much can be facing societal rot from within is nearly unthinkable, unspeakable. Yet it continues.

Don't say that it can't happen in America. It is already beginning in places like Detroit and Minneapolis, and in Buffalo. It will accelerate if we continue on a like path with our British friends.

I See a Bad Moon Arisin' ...

Islamic fundamentalists are feeling a bit too confident in London.
A Christian minister who has had heated arguments with Muslims on his TV Gospel show has been brutally attacked by three men who ripped off his cross and warned: ‘If you go back to the studio, we’ll break your legs.’ [SNIP]

The Metropolitan Police are treating it as a ‘faith hate’ assault and are hunting three Asian men.

In spite of the attack, Mr Samuel went ahead with his hour-long live Asian Gospel Show on the Venus satellite channel from studios in Wembley, North London. During the show the Muslim station owner Tahir Ali came on air to condemn the attack.

Pakistan-born Mr Samuel, 48, who was educated by Christian missionaries and moved to Britain 15 years ago, said that over the past few weeks he has received phone-in calls from people identifying themselves as Muslims who challenged his views.

‘They were having an argument with me,’ he said. ‘They were very aggressive in saying they did not agree with me. I said those are your views and these are my views.’

He said that he, his wife Louisa, 48, and his son Naveed, 19, now fear for their safety, and police have given them panic alarms. ‘I am frightened and depressed,’ he said. "My show is not confrontational."
Some would argue that the Brits are encouraging this sort of behavior when they refuse to stand up for the free speech rights of their citizens and block visitors from other countries who are warning of home-grown Euro-jihad. It is political correctness based on fear.

I hope it's not a preview of what we will see over here.

God bless and protect Mr. Samuel and his family.

Forest Fires as a Terror Weapon

The jihadists of the religion of peace are back in the news again, and this time the terrorist weapon of choice: Forest fires.
Islam Group Urges Forest Fire Jihad

AUSTRALIA has been singled out as a target for "forest jihad" by a group of Islamic extremists urging Muslims to deliberately light bush fires as a weapon of terror.

US intelligence channels earlier this year identified a website calling on Muslims in Australia, the US, Europe and Russia to "start forest fires", claiming "scholars have justified chopping down and burning the infidels' forests when they do the same to our lands".

The website, posted by a group called the Al-Ikhlas Islamic Network, argues in Arabic that lighting fires is an effective form of terrorism justified in Islamic law under the "eye for an eye" doctrine.

There's more.

Of course, the progressives among us will tell us that we should try to understand the point of the view of the misunderstand jihadis, and that we really have more to fear in this country from the radical Christians among us.

Yeah, I'm seriously concerned about the forest fire threat from those Methodists. And those Catholics, with their votive candles, they're the worst!

Crash of Civilization in Calgary

Forget never again. How about "It can't happen here"?

When you think of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, you think of the annual rodeo, cowboys, beautiful scenery, winter sports, and rugged citizens who love their land. You do not think of Islamic extremists unfurling the flags of Hamas and Hezbollah on private property just a few blocks away from the city's Jewish Center. But it's happening, and no one is doing much about it, except wishing it would go away.

Political correctness and an insanely strange immigration code is quickly turning Canadian cities into copycats of France, according to blogger Ezra Levant.
... Calgary's new anti-Semites are much more clever.

They come with names like "Soharwardy" and "Hage", not Long. They speak with Arabic and Urdu accents, not American accents. They wear kaffiyeh scarves, not white Klan hoods. But they are the same damned thing: Jew haters who support violence.

Oh, this isn't a call for a Terry Long-style human rights commission inquiry, or even a criminal "hate speech" charge. They're useless in every way, except as job-creation for second-rate lawyers and bureaucrats, and the new breed of police officer: the multicultural "outreach officer" whose job is no longer to enforce Canadian norms, but to bend them to accommodate Gazan norms. No, any "hate speech" charges would surely fail, as Ahenakew's failed. And they miss the point.

These hate marches call for political and economic marginalization; for a reassertion of ordinary Canadians' civic responsibilities; for a restatement of Canadian values, like Jason Kenney did the other day; and, frankly, for a re-calibration of Canada's immigration policies: more law-abiding peaceful Canadians, less terrorist sympathizers. And I can't think of a value or interest that would be offended by the deportation of non-citizens who fly terrorist flags in Canada (other than the liberal value of civilizational suicide).

This is not a foreign policy issue. This isn't about our views on the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. It's not about what we think, in the abstract, about the Middle East. It's a concrete question about the kind of cities we want and the kind of conduct we will tolerate right here in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. It's not even about Jews. It's about whether our civic leaders can remain silent as our streets are filled with hate and thinly-veiled threats of violence and terrorism.
There's a bit more, including pictures of the event. If this keeps up we will need a northern border fence too.

Religion of Peace News Bulletin

"If I meet these whores, I will have the honor – I repeat, I will have the honor – to be the first one to cut [their] heads off…if they will keep spreading their satanic culture against Islam."
- Mohammed Abdel-Al, spokesman and senior terrorist for the Popular Resistance Committees (as reported by the Israeli National News)

And who are these despicable, ahem, prostitutes?

Brittney Spears and Madonna.

I doubt that either will be issuing him a dinner invitation anytime soon.

Do you suppose Abdel-Al has a business card with Spokesman and Senior Terrorist printed on it?

Seriously, you would think that in the grand scheme of things, a "senior terrorist" in the Middle East would have bigger fish to fry right now. But then, I've never understood the tortured logic of Islamic extremism.
