He's Blond and He's Bond

Daniel Craig -- an actor in a BBC soap -- has been chosen to be the new OO7l, replacing Pierce Brosnan. Apparently the producers like the way he looks in a tux, and don't mind the fact that his casting violates all historical protocols and traditions because he is blond.

Hey, if good looks are all that are important to the Bond Machine people, fine. Don't worry about being true to the Ian Fleming storylines. Fleming is dead; long live Fleming.

Not that we really care. We haven't even caught the last Bond flick -- the one with Halle Berry on the ice somewhere -- on DVD.

Guess we ran out of excitement even before Brosnan did.
