Obamaguration 'A State of Emergency'?

If I got the exchange rate correct, the incoming Obama administration is spending over $145 million, mostly in taxpayer dollars, on next week's inauguration, according to the London Daily Mail.

This, the paper says, is a modern record, and may help explain why President Bush has declared a "state of emergency" in anticipation of so many people flooding into the District for the swearing in ceremonies, parade, balls, etc.

Weren't these the same Democrats who chastised Bush for his expensive inaugurations in 2001 and 2005? (Neither of which came close to this price tag ...)

Where are the cries of how this money could be used to pay for some poor child's health care, special operation, food for the homeless, and so on?

I won't ask those questions because I'm afraid some Obamaniac will tell me that "the poor you will always have with you, but the Messiah has come now!"
