Chavez: From pompous piss-ant to prophet?

Hugo Chavez, whom most Americans (except for adorers of Jimmy Carter) consider Venezuela's leftist dictator, may be exactly where God best wants him. This AP story reports:
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez denounced the U.S.-led war in Iraq on Thursday and told world leaders they should consider moving the U.N. headquarters out of the United States because of it.
...

Chavez said U.N. headquarters should be moved from New York to international city "outside the sovereignty of any state," and noted that some have suggested Jerusalem.

"The new U.N. headquarters has to be in the South," which is home to most developing countries, he added.

No disrespect to the Mr. Chavez -- okay, that's not true. With tons of disrespect to Mr. Chavez, Jerusalem is not "in the South" according to most maps of the globe we have studied. Maybe he meant "south of Russia" or "more southern than New York."

But Chavez's suggestion may catch on. Why do we say this? There are various prophecies which would indicate that at some point in time the seat of world government is headquartered in either Jerusalem or Babylon.

Babylon could stand even more renovation than New Orleans at this stage, not to mention the hostilities and the presence of the "disrespectful" Americans whom Chavez believes do not deserve the honor of hosting the world body.

Jerusalem might well be the consensus relocation site that many in this country and elsewhere have been clamoring for. (The Oklahomilist does not care where the U.N. relocates, just so long as it no longer pollutes New York or any other American town.)

Thus it would be a natural setting for the arrival of the antiChrist, the politician-turned-mystic who bamboozles the vast majority into thinking he's a real messiah.

Keep your eyes open.
